Call to Artists & Photographers: “Shared Values in Monochrome”

February 4-25, 2024

The Klamath Art Association and Gallery is hosting a themed invitational exhibit for February 2024 featuring creations that celebrate the use of a limited monochrome palette of one color or black in all the variations from dark to light. The gallery is inviting artists, photographers, sculptors, craftspeople and textile artists to participate. The invitation is extended to both members and non-members of KAA. The exhibit will open with an artist’s reception from noon to 4 PM on Sunday, February 4th and will run all month until Sunday, February 25th.

All work must be for sale.  Participants can make money from selling their work. The commission rate is 30% for non-members and 25% for members of KAA. To help defray the cost of publicity and refreshments, non-members are asked to pay an entry fee of $5.00 per work for artwork that is for wall display. For crafts items that are displayed on tables, there is a single flat $5.00 entry fee for non-member table space. Tabletop display space will be up to the discretion of the exhibit manager.

All work needs to be delivered to the Klamath Art Gallery in person at 120 Riverside Drive on Thursday, February 1, from 2 to 5:30 PM. For questions or inventory and tag forms please send your e-mail request to: klamathartassoc@aol.com so you can fill them out ahead. Forms will also be available at the gallery the afternoon of February 1. For questions, you may also phone the gallery during open hours noon to 4 PM Thursdays through Sundays.

In order to insure that every entrant is able to show examples of their work on our walls during group exhibits, there is a limit of two works if they are under 24″ x 36 inches on the outside of the frame or a total of 864 square inches (external measurements) if they are an odd shaped frame. OR: 1 work up to 28″ x 42″ as measured to the external edges of the frame or a total of 1,176 square inches as measured to external edges of an odd size frame. Framed work is preferred. All “wall” work must have wire back hangers clear across the back of the work. No hook or loop hangers. “Coloring Book” art is specifically excluded, as it is not original art. The gallery reserves the right to refuse work that does not fit the theme or does not meet the above requirements. NO exceptions. Complete exhibitor polices are available on the Klamath Art Gallery website at https://klamathartassociation.org/exhibit-policies/.
